Novell CNE, expert-level familiarity with Windows NT Server, familiar
(not expert) with Unix-style servers (Solaris and Linux). Programming: Expert at database-driven Web sites using Adobe Flex, ColdFusion (see Daryl's ColdFusion Primer at http://www.cfprimer.com/) and Java Servlets/JDBC, for Intranet/Extranet and e-Commerece applications. Varied background includes 6502 machine language, Pascal, 8086 assembler, C, C++, REXX, SQL, ColdFusion, and JavaScript. The customer was mailing sets of floppies with database updates to its subscribers (Fortune 1000 companies) on a regular basis, and requiring its subscribers' IS departments to install their application on all workstations that would access the database. The Internet-based solution (first to market by 5+ years) allows for centralized database updating; instant deployment at new subscribers' sites; and full control of their database. Extensive network consulting, including planning and deployment of numerous NetWare 3.x to 4.x upgrades; capacity planning and LAN/WAN infrastructure deployment; deployment of remote access systems including NetWare Connect with and without Cubix and CommVision remote control clusters; installation and support of NetWare and NT servers; informal LAN administrator training. |

Responsible for resource allocation, conservation, and expansion. Administered Computer Security in a Top Secret (SCI) installation. Assisted the Computer Equipment System Security Officer with the technical details of managing the ACF2/VM security system. Wrote back-end interfaces in REXX for applications software. On LAN installation team responsible for the site's first Novell LAN. Programmer of the Year, 1990 (only year that award was available.) Help Desk Earned a reputation of being the person who would find some way to solve a user's problem. Assisted customers with questions or problems, and resolved complaints. Developed and maintained a database of software and hardware using dBase III. Implemented a UNIX (PC/IX) based software system, with no outside support or UNIX background, within a 72-hour deadline.
